Laura White focuses on process and how objects/things come into being, with an emphasis on the handling of materials, from stable material such as ceramics and metal to the changeable matter of bread dough and ink.
Disobedient Bodies II, takes the humble and sustainable ingredients for making bread to create sculptures. Sometimes the works are edible and sometimes not.
Interested in materials that are difficult to control and require a collaborative approach, Laura uses her entire body to stretch dough, and for her wall drawings her breathe to spread ink. These actions create the works to reflect the body both inside and out.
